Unless these dragons are the "true giants", or they are forgotten amongst lore, or ANet wants to make a retcon, then Glint cannot be related.

Also, keep in mind that so far all our history we know is based on human sources. So, we don't really know if the old gods created the world, or if that was just a myth perpetuated by Dwayna's priests.

Well, even though we're in a tight spot, I'm looking very much forward to it
Especially seens we now have explanations for alot of the things that were unanswered in GW:EN (or were'nt meant to be answered in GW:EN on some accounts)
As far as I see it:
Frozen creature in Drakkar's Lake = dragon, and it corrupted Svanir
The whole dragon statue thing.
Livia with the Scepter of Orr, becoming the first queen of Kryta
what happens to the dwarves

Over all, I'm very positive towards GW2 ^^

Anyone else think that's a bad idea?

Doesn't the Sceptor have a history of corrupting people? (or I guess just one person...)

They said Salma becomes the Queen of Kryta.

Salma was an NPC in the ToA, and there was a quest in which you learned she was a descendant of the original Krytan Royal Family which ruled before the White Mantle took over.

Odd, too. Doesn't the article say it as if Salma is the queen of Kryta during GW2? If so, she's oooooooooooooooold.

-----

Mordakai - Lichie was always evil, if you mean him. The way I know it...

-Lichie worshipped Abaddon when alive. Therefore he was probably evil already.
-Terick tricks him into using the forbidden scrolls' magic, thereby destroying Orr. I think Abaddon told Terick to do that so that it would wipe out Arah, the home of the Gods. Whether it's because he thought his fellow Gods were still living there or not though, I'm not sure.
-Khilbron becomes a big bad lich the same reason the Orrians became undead, due to the dark magic. Still evil, though now giant, ugly, and footless.

I'm not quite sure how the Terick and Abaddon-worshipping bits tie in, like if Terick really tricked him or if Terick said it was for Abaddon. Either way, the gist of it is there.

It wasn't the Sceptor that corrupted the Lich, it was Abaddon. The power of the Sceptor in the propper hands could be a very good thing. They didn't talk about the undead plauge in Kryta, maybe Liva used the Scepter to drive them out.

I re-read it: descendant of Queen Salma.

So, no ancient Livia living it up with the sceptor...

and with all the undead roving around Orr and the Crystal Desert, I bet we'll have to find the sceptor... again.

But wait! Livia is in our party, she can come to our HoM with us.

Let's put a 100 digit keycode.

I hope Livia doesn't turn all evil and old and wrinkly. She's hot...

and also, whooptydoo, we play 3 campaigns and gw:en, just to find out 90% of everything we did was botched not even 300 years later..... goooooo team.

Cantha was probably the best of all three nightmare scenarios...

and don't worry, I'm sure we'll be given the chance to make it all right again. (except for maybe Ascalon, where only a sliver of hope remains.)

I think what pisses the people who are pissed off is the fact that elona and ascalon gets the finger.

We played 1 Campaign and 1 expansion to save bloody ascalon and it all goes to hell. This really really bothers me, espically how this happens during our character's lifetime if it happened in King Albern's lifetime.

Then Elona gets messed up by Joko. Okay, I would be fine if PART of elona falls under his hand because of the ever expanding desert. It makes tons more sense, those drought areas fall under his rule because the people don't care about desert lands and Joko's undead can survive in the desert whereas Elonians cannot.

Everything else is fine. Cantha actually is very well off. Even if the emperor is evil you have to admit he did a good job to uniting the people and strengthing the human race. All you have to do is shadow prison spike him then we have a thriving awesome human continent.

War over blood stones would be win.

I'm pretty sure the Vizier was corrupted long before he ever got his hands on the Scepter.

Unless you happen to be a tengu or dredge, at least. Come to think of it, tengu weren't mentioned at all even in the sections on their former strongholds...

Um... They needed some excuse to leave Cantha and Elona out of the game because, like it or not, that is waaaay too much content for one game. Not that I wouldn't like it, but the team couldn't handle it. I don't think it's a cop-out at all. These things happen.

90% of what we did was save the world from getting annihilated by Abaddon and delay Primordus's awakening. We never did anything to stop the Charr from finishing off Ascalon except raid a few small warbands. If anything, we actually helped the Charr take over Ascalon by helping Pyre unite his people against the Shamans. And we were kinda partly responsible for causing civil war in Kryta.

As far as Elona goes, once Palawa cut off the river, there wasn't much else the rest of Elona could do about it. If he had a strong enough foothold where he was, then Elona and the Sunspears would have to give in if they wanted to drink at all. I'll bet there are resistance groups in Istan, though, that we don't know about yet.

Regarding comments about these things happening during our heroes' lifetime... That's already been discussed to death and explained in full. Most of these things happened when our characters were getting old and no longer in their prime. In addition, they would all be really spread thin trying to fix all of this stuff.

According to the Staff of the Mists quest, the two staves had a history of corrupting people before Khilbron.

PS I think what may have happened to Istan is that the Sunspears tried to be too noble. Istan may well have been self-sufficient on it's own if it abandoned the other two provinces, but the Sunspears most likely tried to defeat Palawa militarily... with about as much success as the assault on Gandara. With the Sunspears no longer an effective military force, Istan was left without the ability to defend itself, while if the Sunspears had resigned themselves to just protecting Istan, they may well have gotten away with it, at least for a few more decades.

The funny thing is that it's the Sunspears (us) themselves that gives Palawa most of his power back

It wouldn't surprise me, though, if the Sunspears were also on the front lines of Turai's resistance against Palawa the first time around.

We're probably the role models for the Mordant Crescent . Palawa may even have them tricked into believing they're doing it for the greater good - making Palawa a stronger buffer against the desert dragon, for instance.

GW2 appears to be the biggest lorelol I've seen in any video game to date.
Erm, lots of RPGs have things like tree worlds and talking trees, and magic trees and yada yada yada.

The Great Deku Tree (Legend of Zelda)
The Mana Tree (Mana series)
Ents (LotR)
Tret (Golden Sun)

In fact, according to http://project-apollo.net/text/rpg.html (rather funny list) Talking to a tree and doing what it says is an RPG cliche, I'm sure WoWs tree stuff is far from 100% Original.

Mystic trees are a long standing part of the fantasy genre.

Most of my hopes are put into Cantha nad its future. But i am almost sure we won't be able to travel there by the time we buy game but. We will visit Cantha in expansion. And i excpet it to some cool looking millitary state that no one dares to invade. Humans only ofcourse. I also put hopes that undead of Palawa Joko are going to look cooler than they look now. Something like Orrian undeads but a bit diffrent or something. And i excpet trecherous Sunspears to look like some sort of Unholy Knights and that there won't be a lot of them (like 16) and each one will have it's own realm/dungeon/province which he will control and if we kill him get some cool loot.
And one more thing about cantha. I hope it will be in some sort of conflict against tengus and there will be some sort of battlefront betwen them and... Ok i got to stop expecting things because if they proove to be false i will be so sad.
